Next Opportunity Specialist

The Next Opportunity Specialist follows up with existing Nice Guy Technology clients on specific technology improvements our team already identified during past appointments, like a computer nearing the end of its life, a backup worth setting up, or training a client asked about. You revisit those documented opportunities, see whether the timing is now right, and help the client take the next step. This is not cold-calling: you work from a prepared, prioritized list of real conversations clients have already had with us.

Apple Valley, MN (hybrid) · Part-time · ~20 hrs/week · $20–$24/hour

What you'll do

Responsibilities include, and are not limited to:

  • Work through a prepared, prioritized queue of documented “next opportunities” in our client database (Airtable)
  • Review the technician’s notes for each opportunity so you can represent what was recommended, and why, accurately and honestly
  • Call existing clients through our RingCentral phone system to revisit the recommendation in a warm, low-pressure way
  • Listen for whether the client is ready to move forward, wants to wait, or has new needs since their last visit
  • For in-home work, capture the client’s interest and hand it off to our office coordinator (Liz) for scheduling
  • For remote work such as a new-product consultation, book the appointment directly using our Calendly link
  • Document every conversation and outcome in Airtable so the team always knows the current status
  • Coordinate cleanly with technicians and office staff so handoffs are smooth and nothing gets dropped
  • Help clients understand the value of what we’ve recommended, never with pressure, always in service of what genuinely helps them
  • Keep outreach steady and consistent so opportunities are worked in a timely way
  • Treat all client information (device details, home situations, personal notes) with discretion and confidentiality

Qualifications

What we're looking for in the right person.

  • Excellent verbal communication and a warm, friendly, professional phone presence
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and carrying a natural, unscripted conversation
  • Strong listening skills and genuine patience, especially with less tech-savvy clients
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to track many conversations and keep records current
  • Comfortable working in web-based business software while on the phone with a client
  • Comfortable using a Mac as your primary work computer
  • Able to learn and discuss everyday consumer technology at a conversational level
  • Trustworthy and discreet with sensitive client information
  • A plus: customer service, account management, or relationship-management experience
  • A plus: experience working with or caring for older adults
  • A plus: familiarity with Apple products, Windows PCs, smartphones, and common consumer technology
  • A plus: experience with Airtable, RingCentral, Calendly, or Square, though we’ll train the right person

What success looks like

How we'll know this role is working, for our clients and for you.

  • Clients follow through on technology plans they actually want to accomplish
  • Every call leaves a positive impression of Nice Guy Technology
  • Documented opportunities are worked consistently and kept up to date, so techs and office staff can always trust the records and the handoffs
